19 goals in 15 games: Bayern praise "Kane phenomenon"
Manuel Neuer can only marvel at Harry Kane. And Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel can basically only repeat his praise for the 100-million-euro man after every great goal scored by the 30-year-old Englishman.
"He's a phenomenon," said captain Neuer after the German soccer champions' 2:1 (0:0) win against Galatasaray Istanbul. Kane was once again the match-winner, scoring twice to fire Munich to an early group win and into the last 16 of the Champions League.
"I can't tell you anything else," Tuchel replied when asked to categorize Kane's performance: "The performance tells the story, no further words are needed."
Leading figure in the Munich star ensemble
Kane continued his current super run. In the last three games for FC Bayern, he scored three times in the Bundesliga against Darmstadt and Dortmund and now twice in the top flight. The most expensive purchase in Bayern history has scored 19 goals this season after 15 competitive matches. "As a striker, I obviously enjoy scoring goals," said Kane. "I feel like I'm getting to know the lads better and better every game."
Before his double celebration against Galatasaray in the 80th and 86th minute, the England captain also scored at the post. He had to wait an extremely long time for his first goal to be confirmed because there were brief irritations with the video evidence. "We can rely on him," said Neuer about Kane.
The English striker has developed into a new leading figure in Munich's star ensemble in a very short space of time. "It's nice and I'm enjoying it. I love scoring goals and winning. It was a great night," said Kane, who is not amazed at his own goalscoring run. "I wouldn't say I'm surprised, but of course I'm really happy."
- In the Champions League, FC Bayern Munich faced Galatasaray Istanbul, and Harry Kane scored twice, demonstrating his impact in the Champions League as well.
- Despite Galatasaray's best efforts, they were unable to contain the potent attack of Bayern Munich, led by the goalscoring exploits of Harry Kane and Manuel Neuer's exceptional goalkeeping.
- The current Champions League campaign has seen Harry Kane score 19 goals in just 15 games, a testament to his formidable ability and FC Bayern Munich's reliance on his goalscoring prowess in the competition.
