Eurofighter aircraft clashes with drone.

In the German region of Bavaria, Airbus, a prominent aircraft manufacturer, is putting together and testing combat aircraft, specifically of the Airbus variety. During one of these outings, it appears that a drone got too close to their jet. The crash appeared to be a success for the aircraft; however, its shell sustained harm. The authorities are now on the lookout for the drone's proprietor.

Recently, an Airbus Eurofighter military aircraft ran into a drone that was not authorized during landing in Bavaria. The incident occurred a few days ago before the plane landed at a Manching airport that Airbus operates, where they produce the Eurofighters. The pilot noticed damages to the plane after touchdown, which were most likely a result of the drone slamming into it.

The local police from Ingolstadt stated that the drone's unauthorized presence didn't disrupt flight functionality or air safety, but there were undetermined damages to the jet's outer casing. The officers suspect an anonymous individual illegally launched the drone into the airspace surrounding the airport. They're conducting an investigation into potential hazards in air traffic and infringements on the Air Safety Act.

In addition, they're searching for witnesses. As per their own word, they're specifically seeking assitance from "aviation enthusiasts who were present during the incident with their cameras, capturing or recording landing aircraft." They've set up a portal for uploading these recordings.

Airbus has its defense division in Manching, near Ingolstadt, where they produce Eurofighters, military aircraft supplied to the German Air Force and other countries' militaries. The aircraft that was affected was still in Airbus's custody, the police disclosed.
