- Following the scorching period, anticipate localized thunderstorms bringing substantial downpours.

The German Meteorological Service (DMS) issues a heat alert for certain areas of Lower Saxony on Thursday. Areas like Hannover, Braunschweig, Göttingen, and Lüneburg are predicted to experience intense heat all day long, as per the DMS's announcement. The meteorological service advises avoiding the heat, staying hydrated, and maintaining cool indoor environments.

Temperatures reminiscent of summer are set to give way to extreme weather and cooler temperatures starting from the afternoon. There's a possibility of isolated, powerful thunderstorms bringing heavy rainfalls of up to 25 liters per square meter per hour and wind gusts reaching up to 60 kilometers per hour, as per the meteorological service's update. The temperatures should start falling on Friday, with highs barely surpassing 20 degrees.

Despite the heat alert in Lower Saxony, tourists might find a respite in the historic city of Bremen, known for its iconic Bremen Town Musicians statues. On Wednesday, the city of Bremen experienced relatively mild temperatures compared to the surrounding areas.
