In the upcoming season of the German Ice Hockey League, the Frankfurt Lions will have defenseman Daniel Wirt on board. The 24-year-old has signed a new contract, keeping him in Frankfurt for another year according to a recent announcement.

Hailing from Dortmund, Wirt made a move to Frankfurt from the Red Bull Academy in Salzburg back in 2019. He's been playing for the Frankfurt team for over 220 games since then.

Lions' sports director, Daniel Heinrizi, had this to say about Wirt: "He's a dependable defenseman who will primarily rely on his physicality and strength in fights during the upcoming season."
