A 13-year-old kid from Bremen, reportedly deliberately hit and severely harmed by a sports car on Rügen's island, has been discharged from the hospital. The discharge took place on Saturday, confirmed a police representative. The sports car and its driver are still being hunted down. "We've received some leads and are currently following up on them," the representative said.

The proprietors of sports cars in the area are under scrutiny. The vehicle is being searched for in parking lots and garages, and garages are being contacted. "We're also hoping that the owner of the sports car will come forward," the representative added. As per her, seven teenagers witnessed the incident. Regrettably, none of them could recall the license plate number.

Boy sent flying through the air

Last Wednesday evening, in Prora's town (Binz's municipality), a sports car driver supposedly deliberately drove towards the child, as per police reports. The driver then fled the scene. The 8th grader from Bremen, who was with seven other students, reportedly provoked the driver with a gesture earlier.

The driver then allegedly turned around after a few meters and drove towards the boy at high speed, with a deliberate steering maneuver, according to eyewitness accounts. In the head-on collision, the student was propelled several meters into the air before landing on a green area. He was critically injured and air-lifted to the hospital. The Criminal Police are now investigating for charges of grievous bodily harm and hit-and-run.

The 13-year-old victim, hailing from Bremen, was involved in a severe accident on Rügen's island. Witnesses reported the incident taking place in Prora's town.

Despite intense efforts, the driver of the sports car, whose actions led to the boy being sent flying through the air, remains at large. Authorities are continuing their search in Binz's municipality.
