They will receive the "Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award," which is given to producers whose work exemplifies consistent high quality. This award bears the name of Irving G. Thalberg, a former head of MGM studios.
Screenwriter Richard Curtis, famous for movies like "Four Weddings and a Funeral," "Notting Hill," and "Bridget Jones - Chocolate for Breakfast," will be given the Jean Hersholt Award. This honor, named after Danish-American actor and philanthropist Jean Hersholt, is a rare award, reserved for individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to their respective fields.
At the previous Governors Awards in January, Mel Brooks, a legendary comedian known for movies like "The Wild Wild West," and actress Angela Bassett, known for her role in "Tina - What's Love Got To Do With It?," were also presented with honorary Oscars.
