- Search for missing Germans on Mont Blanc continues

After an avalanche on the Mont Blanc, with one fatality and four injured, the search continues for two German mountaineers, the highest peak in the Alps. The missing climbers, aged 30 and 39, were believed to have spent the night in a mountain hut in the area where the avalanche was triggered, according to the mountain police in Chamonix, as reported by the newspaper "La Dépeche". The search involves helicopters, dog teams, and mountain rescuers. An ice axe was found near a crevasse, reported the newspaper "Le Dauphiné Libéré".

On Monday night, around 3 a.m., ice blocks broke off in the Mont Blanc du Tacul area, at an altitude of 4,100 meters above sea level. A total of 15 people were in the vicinity when the mass of ice, snow, and debris came down. Due to its height of over 4,800 meters, the Mont Blanc is extremely exposed to weather conditions, and severe accidents occur regularly.

The avalanche on Mont Blanc unfortunately claimed one life and left four individuals injured, but the focus now remains on locating the two missing German mountaineers, both in their thirties. Despite the dangerous conditions on Mont Blanc, the search continues relentlessly, involving helicopters, dog teams, and mountain rescuers.
