So Gottschalk's last "Wetten, dass...?"

In just over a week, an era will come to an end once and for all. After that, you will never hear Thomas Gottschalk say "Top, the bet is on" again. At least not on "Wetten, dass...?". The complete guest list for his farewell show has now been published.

When Thomas Gottschalk presents his last edition of "Wetten, dass...?" on November 25, numerous prominent guests will be there. After various names had already been leaked, ZDF has now announced all the stars who will sweeten the 73-year-old's farewell to the show.

Actors Matthias Schweighöfer, Stefanie Stappenbeck and Jan Josef Liefers will be involved as betting godfathers and godmothers. Former national soccer player Bastian Schweinsteiger and his wife, former tennis player Ana Ivanović, have also been announced.

In the Baden Arena in Offenburg, Helene Fischer and Shirin David will also perform "Atemlos durch die Nacht" together, "in an unprecedented version", as the broadcaster promises. Music icon Cher will also be there. She is to perform a Christmas dancefloor hit with "DJ Play A Christmas Song". Take That, on the other hand, consisting of Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, will sing a song from their new album "This Life". The musicians will also take a seat on Gottschalk's couch.

"I'll definitely be there"

The outside bet from Switzerland will be hosted by comedian Hazel Brugger, according to ZDF. Among other things, there will be a forklift truck bet in the hall, but a female dog will also make an appearance.

Meanwhile, Thomas Gottschalk joked on Instagram about his last "Wetten, dass...?" appearance: "Great guest list, Hollywood was difficult because of the strike and Thanksgiving, but I'm definitely coming!"

Gottschalk had previously explained in the weekly newspaper "Die Zeit" that this time it was his farewell to the show for good. He was also "taking a bit of an escape", he explained. "Before I create shitstorms because I touch women on the knee, I'd rather stop." Gottschalk admitted that he felt "a certain anxiety" about going against the spirit of the times.

  1. Some viewers might be interested in placing bets on the guests' performances during Thomas Gottschalk's final "Wetten, dass...?" episode, as the broadcaster ZDF has announced a star-studded lineup featuring artists like Helene Fischer, Shirin David, and Take That.
  2. In the midst of all the excitement, German comedian Hazel Brugger will host the outside bet segment in Gottschalk's swan song, which includes an unusual forklift truck bet and the appearance of a female dog.
  3. As plans for his last appearance as a host on "Wetten, dass...?" unfold, Thomas Gottschalk hinted at his slightly nervous anticipation for the broadcast, stating on his Instagram account, "I'll definitely be there, Hollywood was difficult because of the strike and Thanksgiving, but I'm definitely coming!"
