Ukraine reports heavy fighting at the Eastern Front

The Ukrainian General Staff reports on intense Russian attacks along the eastern front of the country. There were 29 Russian storm attacks on the frontline near the small town of Torezk, the military reported in its morning report. The village of New York was particularly contested there. The enemy also used airdropped bombs from aircraft. Torezk is located in the Donetsk region, along with the second heavily affected frontline area Pokrovsk. There, they spoke of 26 attacks.
Russian troops are slowly advancing in this area following the capture of the city of Avdiivka in February. Military reports on individual battles may not be reliable, but the daily statistics allow an overview of the intensity and focus of the fighting. The General Staff reported 144 Russian attack attempts since Wednesday morning. According to an unofficial report, Ukrainian troops had to withdraw from the village of Kalynivka near the city of Chassiw Jar.
During nighttime aerial attacks, Russia, according to Kyiv reports, used 16 combat drones and three cruise missiles. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that all drones and two missiles had been shot down. In turn, the Ukrainians focused their nighttime attacks on the Crimean peninsula annexed by Russia in 2014. Over the Crimea, 33 Ukrainian drones were shot down, as well as two drones over the Brjansk border region, the Defense Ministry in Moscow reported.
Additionally, ten sea drones were repelled off the coast of the Crimea. The aforementioned numbers are not independently verifiable. In the coastal city of Sevastopol on the Crimea, there were reports of nighttime gunfire. One remotely operated combat boat was repelled, explained city mayor Mikhail Razvozhayev on his Telegram channel. There were no reports of damages.
