summer vacation - What one can do with children in Berlin during holidays
After two years, the Summer-Sledding Track in Marzahn is in operation again. In the Nature-Bobbahn in Kienberg Park, a speed of up to 40 kilometers per hour can be reached alongside the World Gardens. Children aged eight and above, with a height of 1.35 meters, can use the track alone, while smaller children under three years old must be accompanied by supervisors. Children can sled for free before school starts.
Small animal lovers can learn about the needs of pets such as rabbits, hamsters, or cats and how Dogs communicate with us in workshops organized by the Animal Welfare Association. Offers are designed for various age groups, from six to 16 years old.
Building with Clay
Thirteen small goats can be observed in the Britzer Garden. In the 90-hectare park area, there is also a water playground at the Lehmhof and the newly opened large water labyrinth at the entrance. From July 30 to August 1, families with children between seven and ten years old can discover the animal and plant inhabitants of the Meadow habitat with the Campus City Nature. Registration is required. In August, children between three and 13 years old can create their own small building and artworks from clay in the Lehmdorf in the Britzer Garden during the annual building-with-clay event.

Free Summer Camps for Needy Children
The Arche Children's Foundation offers free summer camps, outings, and leisure activities for children whose families cannot afford vacation trips. "Many children come to the Arche and tell us that they have never been anywhere else," says Arche founder Bernd Siggelkow. "We support these children so that they too can have beautiful holiday experiences - for example, with a summer camp." Information is available by email.
The Sport Youth Berlin offers soccer cages for soccer playing, basketball hoops, table tennis tables, beach volleyball nets, trampolines, and disc golf baskets at Berlin swimming pools.
